About James

Christopher James Lee Arquette, born on December 2, 2003, in Southeastern Michigan, is a notable American singer, composer, multi-instrumentalist, and producer. From his earliest years, James displayed a profound connection to music, nurtured by cherished moments listening to Johnny Cash with his grandmother at the tender age of 3.

Throughout his formative years, James immersed himself in a diverse array of musical genres, ranging from Big Band to Folk Rock and Soul. His musical journey began at the age of 8 when he first picked up a guitar, marking the inception of his lifelong passion for creating music. However, it wasn't until the age of 13 that he discovered hip hop, which sparked his interest in production, composition, and mastering.

Despite his brief detour into hip hop, James's love for traditional instrumentation remained steadfast. Over the years, he honed his skills not only on the guitar but also on piano, bass, and drums, enriching his musical repertoire and contributing to his distinctive sound.

High school provided James with an opportunity to explore his musical talents further. A brief stint in the school choir proved to be a pivotal moment, offering him valuable insights into the art of composition and performance.

James later dropped out of highschool for lack of interest in his overall studies, and would begin his professional recording career at just 17 years old. In 2021 he released his first Indie Folk-Pop Album, 'All Along The Sidewalk', followed by the release of 'Gardens of Earth', a bluesy Session-Lounge style Ep in April of 2022, which caught the attention of a Nile Sirius Creator, a local saxophone player in southeast Michigan. At the time, Nile had most notably played in the Detroit Symphony Orchestra's Civic Jazz Orchestra and had been a featured soloist with the Count Basie Orchestra. By the time they’d met, Nile had set out to record his first album, which was a blend of everything James liked about jazz, blues, and soul, brought together by modern production; he was exactly where he needed to be. Over the following months, Nile would inspire James to lay down rhythm guitar and compose the horn sections on the allustrious “Celestial Jade Rose” as well as mix and master hits “Imagination Station” and “Nile’s Song”.

In June of 2023, James would go on to release his first studio LP, “Aetherial Nights” which sought to showcase the multi-faceted and fiercely talented artist’s many shades. Fusing elements of small band Jazz in the 1950’s, blistering psychedelic rock of the 60’s, the RnB and Soul of the 70’s, and modern bedroom pop and hip hop recording techniques, he creates a musical soundscape that captures his sonic uniquity and musical prowess in a way that only he could. The album features a series original compositions from the artist that were written, recorded, mixed, mastered, and produced by him solely in his home studio. The album’s only feature is Nile Sirius Creator on the third track “Impressions Of Vale Street (On The Hills Of Darune),” a Jazz ballad reminiscent of 60’s Modal era, that yet again features each artists’ prowess, and tendency to compliment each other’s style.

James's influences are as diverse as his musical repertoire, ranging from jazz icons like Miles Davis and Duke Ellington to hip hop legends such as Tupac Shakur and Dr. Dre; Nirvana, The Beatles, Wu Tang Clan, Queen, Prince, Marvin Gaye, Mobb Deep, Elton John, Jeff Buckley, Kendrick Lamar, John Mayer, Mac Miller, Willie Nelson, Stevie Wonder, Amy Winehouse, Hans Zimmer, Ray Charles, Frank Sinatra, Jimi Hendrix, Ella Fitzgerald, Jerry Garcia, The Delfonics, The Doors, David Bowie, Run D.M.C., Sam Cooke, Herb Alpert, A Tribe Called Quest, Jose Feliciano, John Roseboro, Piero Piccioni, Grant Green, Syd Barret, Wes Montgomery; His eclectic taste in music reflects his insatiable curiosity and relentless pursuit of artistic expression.

As James Arquette continues to carve his path in the music industry, his journey serves as an inspiration to his fellow musicians, as well as his community. With each composition and performance, he reaffirms his place as a distinctive voice in contemporary American music, leaving an indelible mark on the cultural landscape.
